Flathead River Canyon [May 2003]

After a morning of exploring Haskell Pass, the Essexpress gang decided to spend the rest of the afternoon chasing trains along the Flathead river.

Our fist stop on the way back to Essex was the former Columbia Falls depot site. A hot eastbound intermodal roars past.
Marge highballs the BNSF 4980 past Belton.
At the Goatlick, an eastbound stack train crosses Sheep Creek Trestle.
On the tail of the stack train, a pair of Essex-based SD40-2s shove the train up Walton Hill.
