In 2003, searching for new and interesting applications of wireless technology, Goatlick Engineering Limited was founded by Paul Flaherty, Ph.D. Having worked as a teenage "depot boy" for the Burlington Northern in the early 1980s, Dr. Flaherty has spent the past two decades working in the computer networking and radio communications fields, while "moonlighting" as a trainman for a variety of railroads. A veteran of Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq, Altavista, and Accenture, he has amassed a wide body of domain experience in advanced technology. Aside from six patents, dozens of publications, and hundreds of press interviews, Dr. Flaherty has delivered keynote addresses in Japan, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Sweden, The Czech Republic, Canada, and the United States. In addition, Paul presently serves as the Assistant General Manager for the Niles Canyon Railway in Sunol, California.
